Jay-Z to Headline 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Jay-Z to Headline 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Music mogul and rap icon Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14th, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The announcement was officially revealed by Apple Music, the NFL, and Roc Nation during halftime of Monday's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. While Jay-Z's entertainment company Roc Nation has executive produced the halftime performance and advised on artist selection since 2019, the upcoming show marks his debut as the featured headliner.

Reflecting on the milestone, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of his 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt, Jay-Z said:

"From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world's biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true."

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell praised the agreement, noting that he had long encouraged the 25-time Grammy winner to take the field:

"For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve seen the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl Halftime Show."

"When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him. I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage."

The announcement follows the conclusion of Jay-Z's 30th-anniversary tour celebrating Reasonable Doubt, which wrapped up with back-to-back sold-out performances at SoFi Stadium on October 23rd and 24th. The four-city tour featured guest appearances by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Nas, Alicia Keys, and his daughter, Blue Ivy.

The NFL noted that speculation regarding potential guest stars for the halftime production will begin immediately:

"Anticipation as to who Jay-Z might have guest star at halftime for the big game will now kick off. Of course, his wife, Beyoncé, will be atop the list."

Beyoncé previously headlined the halftime show in 2013 and returned as a guest performer alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars in 2016.

Jay-Z follows recent halftime performers including Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Rihanna, and The Weeknd. Recent broadcasts have earned critical acclaim and multiple Emmy Awards, with Bad Bunny's performance winning seven awards and Kendrick Lamar's 2025 appearance securing the award for outstanding music direction.
