Identified: Florida Woman Ivanna Ortiz Charged with Attempted Murder After ‘Obsessive’ Shooting at Rihanna’s Mansion
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The woman who allegedly opened fire on Rihanna’s Beverly Hills estate on Sunday has been identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a 35-year-old from Orlando, Florida. New details emerging today suggest the attack was the culmination of a long-term "obsession" with the pop icon and other high-profile celebrities.
Ortiz was booked early Monday morning on a charge of attempted murder. In a move reflecting the severity of the daylight assault, a judge has set her bail at a staggering $10,225,000.
The Digital Trail of an Obsession
As LAPD detectives sift through the suspect's background, a "disturbing" social media history has come to light. Ortiz reportedly maintained a trail of bizarre and threatening posts directed at Rihanna, as well as Cardi B and Kim Kardashian.
In one post on X (formerly Twitter) just days before the shooting, Ortiz tagged Rihanna, writing: “Are you there? Cause I was waiting for your [redacted] self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around.” Other posts seen by investigators included wild allegations of "witchcraft" and claims that Rihanna "wants to kill me."
“Our investigation includes a thorough look at Ortiz’s digital footprint,” an LAPD spokesperson confirmed. “There appears to be a pattern of fixated, erratic behavior targeting several prominent public figures.”
The Assault: New Evidence Found
While initial reports varied on the damage, aerial footage and scene investigations now confirm a more violent encounter than first believed. LAPD officers recovered seven to ten assault rifle casings from the street outside the property.
Physical evidence at the scene includes:
-
The Perimeter Gate: Riddled with multiple bullet holes.
-
The Main Residence: At least one high-velocity round reportedly struck the exterior wall of the mansion itself.
-
Property Damage: An RV (Airstream) parked in the driveway also sustained significant gunfire damage.
The Arrest in Sherman Oaks
The suspect’s flight was short-lived. Following the 1:21 p.m. shooting, an LAPD helicopter tracked a white Tesla with paper license plates traveling south on Coldwater Canyon Drive.
Ground units intercepted Ortiz roughly 30 minutes later in the parking garage of the Sherman Oaks Galleria, a popular shopping center about eight miles from the residence. An AR-15-style rifle was recovered from the vehicle during the arrest.
A Violent History
Court records show this is not Ortiz’s first brush with the law. In June 2023, she was arrested in Orange County, Florida, for domestic battery following a violent altercation with her ex-husband during a custody exchange.
Additionally, Ortiz was recently involved in a strange legal attempt to block a Billie Eilish performance at the Kia Center in Orlando, claiming the concert violated noise permits.
Status of the Fenty Family
While representatives for Rihanna have remained silent, sources close to the singer say she is "shaken but incredibly relieved" that the situation did not turn fatal. Confirmation has since emerged that A$AP Rocky and the couple's three young children were indeed inside the home during the attack.
Security experts suggest that the "absolute failure" of the suspect's rounds to penetrate the interior, owing to the property's reinforced construction likely prevented a tragedy. As of Tuesday morning, a specialized security detail has been stationed at the home’s perimeter to oversee repairs to the scarred gate.
