‘Default Judgment’: Floyd Mayweather Legally Declared Father of Four-Year-Old Girl and Ordered to Pay Nearly $1M in Back Support

LAS VEGAS — Undefeated boxing legend Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. is facing a staggering financial penalty outside the ring after a Nevada court legally declared him the father of a four-year-old girl and ordered him to pay nearly $1 million (£800,000) in back child support.

According to court documents obtained by US media on Thursday 21st May, a judge entered a default judgment against the 49-year-old former five-division world champion. The ruling follows Mayweather's repeated failure to engage with court proceedings or comply with a legally mandated DNA test.

The child, a daughter named Price, was born in December 2021 to Paige Moorehead, a former exotic dancer who was employed for four years at Mayweather’s own "Girl Collection" gentlemen’s club in Las Vegas.

The Default KO in Court

The high-profile legal dispute began in June 2023 when Moorehead filed a petition in Nevada requesting the court to formally establish Mayweather’s paternity of her then-18-month-old daughter.

Court records reveal that the multi-millionaire sports icon was formally served with legal papers on two separate occasions. Alongside those summons, the court explicitly ordered Mayweather to submit to a DNA paternity test. However, the boxer chose to ignore the directives entirely, failing to provide a sample or file a legal response.

Consequently, the judge issued a default judgment—effectively handing Moorehead a total legal victory due to the defendant's non-compliance.

Under the terms of the financial order, Mayweather must pay:

  • $32,850 (£26,300) per month in ongoing, forward child support payments.

  • $933,050 (£746,000) in backdated child support covering the four years since the child's birth.

An Eight-Year Secret Relationship

In her detailed court filings, Moorehead painted a picture of a long-term, intimate relationship with Mayweather that allegedly spanned eight years, concluding abruptly in April 2021.

According to her testimony, the relationship collapsed the moment she informed the boxer she was pregnant. Moorehead claims Mayweather placed immense pressure on her to terminate the pregnancy. When she refused, she alleges he summarily terminated her employment at his Las Vegas strip club and cut off contact.

While court ledgers show that Mayweather has since paid approximately $151,000 toward the child’s upkeep, the judge noted the sum fell drastically short of his legal obligations. To secure the remaining balance, the court has granted Moorehead the right to place a $2 million legal lien against one of Mayweather's luxury residential properties in California.

“Negative stories always go a lot further than positive stories,” Mayweather remarked generally during a recent press conference in Athens, seemingly addressing his mounting headlines. “But just to be able to stay relevant... the money still flows in. My whole goal is to always stay positive and continue to work hard.”

The Multi-Million-Pound Comeback Schedule

The massive financial judgment lands at an incredibly chaotic period for the self-proclaimed "Best Ever" (TBE), who retired from professional boxing in 2017 with a flawless 50-0 record.

Despite boasting an estimated career net worth of up to $500 million, the child support ruling arrives amid persistent industry rumours that the boxer is navigating structural cash-flow problems. The financial pressure may explain why Mayweather has suddenly lined up an unprecedented three-fight exhibition and professional schedule across the next six months to bolster his liquid income.

Mayweather’s Projected 2026 Ring Schedule

Date of Event Opponent / Matchup Bout Type & Location Broadcast Platform
27th June 2026 Mike Zambidis Exhibition (Athens, Greece) Pay-Per-View
26th September 2026 Manny Pacquiao Official Professional Rematch Netflix Global Stream
Autumn 2026 ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson Exhibition (Las Vegas, Nevada) Pay-Per-View

The Verdict

The four-year-old girl represents Mayweather's fifth child, adding another branch to a highly publicised family tree.

While the boxing icon’s representatives have aggressively pushed back against claims of financial distress, pointing to his continuous high-end shopping sprees and courtside NBA appearances, the California property lien gives Moorehead immense leverage. Unless Mayweather's legal team moves swiftly to appeal the default ruling, "Money" will have to start parting with a significant portion of his upcoming purse splits before he even laces up his gloves.
