"Ground the Old Quickie": Evan Peters Expresses Desire for Proper MCU Quicksilver Return
The Multiverse is expanding, and Evan Peters is ready to run right back into the center of it. In a series of recent interviews, the X-Men fan-favorite has officially gone on the record stating he would "absolutely love" to reprise his role as the silver-haired speedster, Quicksilver, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking to MovieWeb and ComicBook.com while promoting his upcoming projects, Peters addressed the persistent fan theories that have followed him since his "fakeout" appearance in WandaVision.
Beyond Ralph Bohner
For many fans, Peters' return to the Marvel fold in 2021 as "Ralph Bohner" a Westview resident pretending to be Wanda Maximoff’s brother remains a point of contention. Peters seems to share the sentiment that there is unfinished business with the real Peter Maximoff.
"I’d love to. I would absolutely love to," Peters told MovieWeb. "I think that would be incredibly fun to explore that character. We could ground it more, too... just ground the old Quickie."
The actor’s comments come at a pivotal time for the MCU. With Sir Ian McKellen recently confirmed to return as Magneto in the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday" (2026), the path for a long-awaited family reunion has never been clearer.
The Father-Son Dynamic
One of the biggest missed opportunities of the 20th Century Fox X-Men era was the lack of closure regarding Quicksilver’s lineage. While the films heavily hinted that Magneto was Peter’s father, the two never shared a definitive emotional reckoning on screen.
Peters expressed a specific interest in finally diving into that "home life" and the complex relationship with the Master of Magnetism. "The relationship with Magneto would be pretty cool," he noted, adding a hopeful "knock on wood" regarding his potential casting in the next Avengers installments.
A "Grounded" Speedster?
Perhaps most interesting is Peters’ desire to play a "more realistic" take on the character. Known for the iconic, high-budget "Time in a Bottle" and "Sweet Dreams" slow-motion sequences, Peters suggested that a move to the MCU could allow for a version of Quicksilver that is more integrated into the stakes of the story rather than just a "guest spot" for action set-pieces.
Will He Appear in 'Avengers: Doomsday'?
While Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has teased that several secret cast members for Avengers: Doomsday have yet to be revealed, Peters’ official involvement remains unconfirmed. However, industry scoopers have suggested that if he doesn't appear alongside the original X-Men cast in 2026, he is a "top priority" for the multiversal finale, "Avengers: Secret Wars," in 2027.
