‘Freeze the World’: Drake’s ICEMAN Release Date Uncovered in Massive Toronto Ice Sculpture

TORONTO — The cryptic "winter" of Drake’s ninth studio album has finally come to an end. In a promotional stunt that sent the streets of downtown Toronto into a frenzy, the release date for the rapper’s highly anticipated project, ICEMAN, was discovered hidden inside a 25-foot block of ice.

The discovery was made on Tuesday by a local Twitch streamer known as Kishka, who successfully broke through the frozen monolith after hours of public effort involving sledgehammers, pickaxes, and even blowtorches from determined fans.

The ‘Ice Vault’ Breakthrough

The massive structure, which appeared at 81 Bond Street near Dundas Street East on Monday, bore the mysterious command to "Freeze the World." While Drake’s official social media accounts had teased that the "truth would melt away," the city’s hip-hop community wasn't prepared to wait for a spring thaw.

Following a chaotic 24-hour period that saw police called to manage crowds climbing the structure, Kishka successfully chiseled his way to the centre of a specific block. Inside, he recovered a blue waterproof bag containing a book of concept art and a formal confirmation of the date: 15th May 2026.

“I’m holding the bag! I’m holding the date!” Kishka shouted to thousands of live viewers as he pulled the package from the ice. “It says ICEMAN May 15th. We’re going to the mansion right now.”

A $100,000 ‘Golden Ticket’

Following the discovery, the streamer drove directly to Drake's "The Embassy" estate in the Bridle Path neighbourhood. In a surreal moment captured on his livestream, Kishka was met outside the gates by members of Drake’s security team.

While the rapper himself remained inside, the streamer revealed to his audience that he was rewarded with a "significant" bag of cash, later reported to be $100,000—for being the first to recover the documents. Drake later confirmed the May 15th release on Instagram, simply captioning a white-and-blue graphic with: “🧊 MAY 15th.”

Addressing the ‘Lamar’ Elephant

The ICEMAN rollout is being framed as Drake’s definitive answer to a tumultuous 2025. Fans who have seen the concept art recovered from the ice noted a recurring motif of a Pinocchio drawing, which many industry observers interpret as a biting reference to his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar.

The album marks Drake’s first solo full-length project since 2023’s For All the Dogs, following his 2025 R&B collaborative effort with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Some Sexy Songs 4 U. Insiders suggest ICEMAN will be a "return to form," leaning heavily into the cold, atmospheric production that defined his earlier "North" aesthetic.

‘Dangerous’ Fandom

The stunt was not without its controversies. Toronto law enforcement noted that several individuals were nearly injured by falling shards of ice as the sculpture was dismantled by the public. One fan reportedly attempted to set a small fire on top of the installation to accelerate the melting process, leading to a brief police intervention.

Despite the mayhem, the "Ice Vault" has served its purpose. With the date now set for 15th May, the music world is bracing for what could be the biggest commercial debut of 2026.
