Currys Named Microsoft's UK Surface Repair Partner
Currys a renowned electrical retailer, has partnered with Microsoft, becoming the tech giant's inaugural official retail repair partner for Surface laptops in the UK. This collaboration offers Surface customers an alternative pathway for device repairs, expanding beyond Microsoft's own support channels.
Currys' Role as Microsoft's Authorized Service Provider (ASP):
In this innovative partnership, Currys assumes the role of Microsoft's inaugural retail authorized service provider (ASP) in the UK. This designation empowers Currys to provide repair services for Surface laptops, enhancing accessibility to technical support for both business and consumer customers across the nation.
Expanded Repair Options and Accessibility:
Previously, Surface customers sought repairs exclusively through Microsoft's support channels. Now, with Currys onboard, users have the convenience of accessing in-person support at any of Currys' 300 stores across the UK and Ireland. This accessibility streamlines the repair process, providing users with prompt assistance from Curry's extensive team of over 1,200 expert technicians.
Enhanced Repair Capabilities:
Currys' expanded role includes the ability to perform repairs for Surface laptops, covering key components such as the display, thermal module, kickstand, and Surface Connect ports. Leveraging their expertise and Europe's largest electrical repair lab in Newark, Nottinghamshire, Currys aims to provide comprehensive repair solutions for Surface users.
Commitment to Sustainability:
Both Curry's and Microsoft reaffirm their commitment to sustainability through this partnership. Currys, with its "Long Live Your Tech" initiative, champions a circular technology economy by repairing, reusing, or recycling millions of electrical items annually. Similarly, Microsoft's pledge to become carbon-negative, water-positive, and zero-waste aligns with its efforts to reduce electronic waste and promote repairability.
