Joshua and Ronaldo seated at the event

Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Joshua Enjoy Ringside Chat at Fury vs Usyk Showdown

Sporting Icons Bond at Ringside

Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Joshua were seen hitting it off at ringside as they took their seats next to each other ahead of Tyson Fury's heavyweight showdown with Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night. The two sporting superstars appeared to be getting along well, sharing a laugh while watching the undercard bout between Agit Kabayel and Frank Sanchez.

Ronaldo's Previous Ringside Experience

Ronaldo's experience at the event was markedly different from his previous outing at a boxing match in Saudi Arabia, where he sat next to UFC star Conor McGregor during Anthony Joshua's fight against Otto Wallin last December. On that occasion, Ronaldo seemed less engaged, with fans noting he looked uncomfortable as McGregor animatedly chatted with him throughout the evening.

Ronaldo and Joshua’s Interaction

In contrast, Ronaldo seemed more at ease next to Joshua, with the pair seen smiling and laughing together. Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion, may have been sharing his boxing expertise with Ronaldo, who has shown a keen interest in the sport over the years. Their camaraderie was evident as they enjoyed the night's action.

Joshua's Boxing Aspirations

Joshua's vested interest in the outcome of the Fury vs Usyk fight was clear. Having won his last four bouts, Joshua is positioned for a potential showdown with the winner. A victory for Fury could set up a highly anticipated domestic clash with Joshua, while a win for Usyk might offer Joshua a chance for redemption in a third encounter.

Joshua's Road to Redemption

Joshua has bounced back from his two defeats to Usyk in 2021 and 2022 with dominant victories over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou, under the guidance of Fury's former trainer, Ben Davison. These wins have revitalized his career and placed him back in the heavyweight title picture.

Maintaining his current form could pave the way for Joshua to reclaim his spot at the top of the heavyweight division, whether through a domestic clash with Fury or a redemption bout against Usyk.
