R&B Royalty Unite: Chris Brown Announces New Album ‘BROWN’ and Historic Joint Tour with Usher

LONDON — The R&B landscape has been shifted by a dual-force earthquake this week. Chris Brown has officially kickstarted his next creative era, announcing his 12th studio album, titled BROWN, and a groundbreaking joint stadium tour with fellow superstar Usher.

The announcement, which arrived via a high-octane cinematic trailer on Friday 10th April, marks one of the most significant collaborations in the genre’s history. Dubbed the ‘Raymond & Brown Tour’ (a play on the artists’ names and the ‘R&B’ genre), the trek is expected to be the definitive musical event of late 2026.

The ‘BROWN’ Era Begins

Following the Grammy-winning success of his 11:11 era, Brown is wasting no time. His new album, BROWN, is scheduled for a global release on 8th May 2026, just days after the singer’s 37th birthday.

To whet appetites, Brown released the album’s lead single, ‘Obvious’, on Friday. Produced by RoccStar, the track is a return to the smooth, melodic "lover boy" aesthetic that has defined much of his career. It follows the momentum of his 2025 hit ‘It Depends’ featuring Bryson Tiller, which recently earned a remix featuring none other than his new touring partner, Usher.

“I’m doing things I ain’t never done / I do it all for you ‘cause you one of one,” Brown croons on the new track, which has already climbed into the top 25 of the UK Trending charts within 48 hours of its release.

A Clash of the Titans: The R&B Tour

The ‘Raymond & Brown’ (R&B) Tour was unveiled through a slick promotional video showing both stars speeding through city streets on motorcycles, pursued by legions of fans, before arriving at a packed stadium.

While specific UK dates have yet to be confirmed, industry insiders suggest that a multi-night residency at London’s O2 Arena and a headline slot at Wembley Stadium are being negotiated for the European leg in late 2026.

A Legacy of Collaboration

The partnership between Usher and Brown is a long-simmering union. The two have shared the stage and the studio multiple times over the last decade, most famously on the 2014 hit ‘New Flame’ and more recently on the award-winning remix of ‘It Depends’.

The joint tour comes at a peak for both artists. Usher is coming off the back of a critically acclaimed 2025 residency in London, while Brown recently completed his 'Breezy Bowl XX' stadium run, which grossed nearly £240 million ($300m) globally.

‘It’s Time’

The trailer concludes with the two legends stepping onto an elevator that opens to a roaring crowd. “It’s time,” Usher declares in the clip. “Hell yeah,” Brown replies.

For fans of the genre, the pairing represents a bridge between two generations of R&B dominance, Usher, the quintessential 2000s icon, and Brown, the most prolific hitmaker of the 2010s and 2020s.

Details regarding ticket pre-sales and the full international itinerary are expected to drop later this month.
