WWE Draft 2024 Results
The WWE Draft has returned for 2024, and took place over SmackDown on Friday April 26th, and Monday night RAW on April 29th. The Draft allows Raw and SmackDown to bring wrestlers from other brands, including NXT, into their rosters, which brings the opportunity for new storylines and rivalries to be introduced.
The Rules of the WWE Draft
Following the rules of the WWE Draft, SmackDown featured four rounds of picks, with SmackDown getting first pick, and Raw featured six rounds, with Raw getting the first pick. Each round of picks consists of each brand making two picks, resulting in a total of 8 picks from each brand on Friday, and 12 on Monday. The current title holders were not eligible for the draft, with the exception of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane, who will go to the roster they were drafted to if they lose the titles. This means that Priest, Becky Lynch, tag team “Awesome Truth”, and Sami Zayn will remain on Raw, and Cody Rhodes, Bayley, tag team “A-Town Down Under”, and Logan Paul will remain on SmackDown. The new rosters will come into effect on May 6th, the first Monday night Raw after Backlash France.
Night One Draft Picks
Although night one followed the tradition of most wrestlers staying with their current brand, SmackDown did break tradition by drafting an NXT member in the first round for the first time in WWE history.
