Nintendo Switch 2 Breaks Records with 3.5 Million Sales in Four Days

Nintendo Switch 2 Breaks Records with 3.5 Million Sales in Four Days

Nintendo has had a huge success with its new Switch 2 console, selling over 3.5 million units in just the first four days since its launch on June 5th. This makes the Switch 2 the fastest-selling device in the company’s history, beating all their previous devices' records. The new model keeps the versatility of the original Switch by letting players use it both on the go and connected to a TV, but it comes with a bigger screen, better graphics, and new features like GameChat for voice and video calls during gameplay.

Despite the excitement, finding a Switch 2 has been tough, especially in places like the UK where stock sold out within minutes at most retailers. Fans looking online are warned to watch out for scams, with Nintendo cautioning buyers to verify sellers carefully and avoid phishing emails tied to fake lotteries for the console. Nintendo also managed to keep the console price steady despite some price increases on accessories caused by tariffs, although pre-orders had to be briefly delayed when tariffs were announced.

Nintendo’s president, Doug Bowser, said, "Fans around the world are showing their enthusiasm for Nintendo Switch 2 as an upgraded way to play at home and on the go." With popular game bundles including the much-anticipated Mario Kart World, Nintendo aims to hit its forecast of 15 million Switch 2 sales by next March, continuing the success that made the original Switch a gaming phenomenon.
