Kamala Harris Takes a Stand Against High Prices

Vice President Kamala Harris has made a big announcement in her campaign for president. She gave her first major policy speech in North Carolina. She talked about an issue that affects many Americans which are the high prices of food and groceries.

Kamala wants to stop companies from unfairly raising prices just to make more money. This is called "price gouging" and it happens when businesses charge a lot more than necessary. Especially during tough times. She is suggesting a new rule that would make price gouging illegal at the federal level.

Her plan is part of a larger effort to help Americans who are struggling with high costs not just for food but also for things like housing and medicine. Harris believes that making this change will protect families from being taken advantage of by big companies.

This proposal got strong backing from people who are tired of seeing their grocery bills rise while large corporations profit greatly. Her campaign focuses on supporting middle class families and this new policy represents an important step in that direction.

If she becomes president, she promises to put into effect the new rule within the first 100 days. Many see this as a step that shows her seriousness about standing up for normal citizens.
