Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Finalize Divorce
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have officially finalised their divorce, bringing closure to their five-year marriage.
A Florida judge recently approved the settlement, which includes confidential terms on asset division, spousal support, and custody arrangements for their two young daughters, Willa and Delphine.
The judge ruled the marriage as "irretrievably broken," concluding a legal process that began when Jonas filed for divorce in September 2023. Despite some initial friction, including a brief custody dispute, the couple's agreement is now in place and deemed to be in the "best interests of the family."
The ex-couple's split became public with a joint statement on Instagram, which read: "After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage."
They added, "There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision."
The settlement follows a period of tension over their daughters' custody. Turner had previously sued Jonas for withholding their daughters' passports, which complicated their plans to move to England. However, the two parties eventually reached an agreement to share custody, allowing the children to spend time in both the U.S. and the U.K.
Turner expressed her disappointment in how the custody issues played out but acknowledged Jonas as a good father. She also publicly thanked her friend Taylor Swift for providing support during the tumultuous period.
On a personal note, both Jonas and Turner have moved on. Turner is now dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, while Jonas has been linked to actress Stormi Bree and Lebanese actress Laila Abdallah. For Jonas, the end of his marriage has led to some creative outlets, including a new album he describes as a form of therapy.
