GTA Online Is Adding A New Heist This July - Here's Everything You Need To Know

Los Santos is about to get a little less cultured and a lot more chaotic. Rockstar Games has announced its next major summer expansion for GTA Online, titled The Kortz Center Heist. Scheduled to launch this July, the massive update shifts the criminal focus away from typical banks and casinos to target a high-end cultural landmark up in the hills of Pacific Bluffs.
While the world-famous gallery has loomed over the map since the game launched, famously serving as the backdrop for a massive government agency shootout in the single-player story mode, its interior has remained entirely locked away. That changes next month when players will finally get to infiltrate the complex, ransack its prestigious collection, and smuggle out priceless international works of art for personal gain.
Setting Up the Masterpiece Heist
True to the classic GTA Online heist formula, pulling off this high-stakes job requires a thorough multi-stage operation. Crews will need to scout out the massive complex, select their strategy, and execute a plan that handles both breaking into the heavily guarded facility and escaping the grounds intact.
Before you can start mapping out the blueprints, however, you will need a proper base of operations. The heist planning room is tied directly to the luxury mansions introduced in a previous update. Players must modify their high-end properties by constructing an in-house Art Studio, which will serve as the hub for counterfeiting and scheduling the main event.
Pre-Heist Preparation & Real Estate Discounts
Because setting up a luxury mansion isn't cheap, Rockstar is launching a series of promotional events over the next few weeks to help players pad their virtual wallets before July. The upcoming weeks will feature active bonus cash events, record-breaking gear discounts, and a specialized Fine Art Collector program that hands out rare treasures matching the update's theme.
For players looking to buy a mansion from Prix Luxury Real Estate, a couple of major financial boosts are on the horizon:
- GTA+ Perks: Active subscribers will soon receive a massive $2,000,000 discount on mansion purchases.
- Shark Card Bonus: For a limited time, all players will receive an automatic 40% bonus of in-game cash on any Shark Card purchases.
Massive Free Tech Upgrades for Console and PC
Alongside the content announcement, Rockstar dropped an unexpected bonus for players still running older versions of the game. Starting tomorrow, anyone playing on last-gen hardware can transition to current-generation versions completely free of charge.
Xbox and PlayStation
Anyone who currently owns the digital Xbox One version or any PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto V can upgrade to the native Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5 versions at no extra cost. The upgrade brings major visual and technical enhancements, unlocks Career Progress rewards, and grants access to Hao’s Special Works high-performance vehicle modifications. Existing character progression from both Story Mode and Online can be carried over seamlessly.
PC Upgrades
PC players running the legacy version of the software can move up to the Enhanced PC edition for free. This adds platform-exclusive graphical features like global illumination and ray-traced ambient occlusion to make Los Santos look better than ever.
Story Mode Access
As an added bonus for subscribers, GTA+ members who have never actually finished the single-player campaign can now play GTAV's full Story Mode straight through the GTA+ Games Library.
The major platform upgrades serve as a perfect bridge to keep players occupied through the summer heat, keeping fans firmly planted in Los Santos as anticipation steadily builds for the official release of Grand Theft Auto 6 this November.
