Fire Destroys 17 Teslas at Rome Dealership

A fire broke out early Monday morning at a Tesla dealership in Rome, destroying 17 vehicles. Firefighters arrived at the scene in the Torre Angela district around 4:30 a.m. and managed to contain the blaze, which partially damaged the building. No injuries were reported, and authorities are investigating all possible causes, including arson.

The incident follows a wave of Tesla-related vandalism in Italy and beyond, with reports of vehicles being defaced with anti-Elon Musk and anti-Donald Trump messages. Some attacks have been linked to Musk’s political affiliations, including his support for far-right parties in Europe. Surveillance footage from the dealership is being reviewed as part of the investigation.

This is not the first such incident in Rome—last week, another dealership fire in the city destroyed 30 cars, including Teslas. While that fire was initially blamed on an electrical fault, authorities are now reassessing their findings. Similar acts of vandalism against Tesla cars and dealerships have been reported in Milan, France, and the U.S., with some protests directly targeting Musk’s involvement in Trump’s administration.
