Epstein and Diddy Prosecutor Fired From US Attorney’s Office

Maurene Comey, a longtime federal prosecutor and daughter of former FBI director James Comey, has been fired from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Her dismissal, which reportedly came without explanation, follows a series of high-profile cases she worked on, including the prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and more recently, Sean "Diddy" Combs. Combs was convicted of a prostitution-related charge earlier this month, but acquitted on more serious counts like racketeering and sex trafficking.

The Justice Department hasn't provided a reason for Comey’s termination, but it comes amid a sweeping reshuffle within the department under President Trump’s second term. In recent weeks, Attorney General Pam Bondi has dismissed several prosecutors connected to Trump-related investigations and Capitol riot cases. “This comes 2 months after my pressure campaign,” posted right-wing influencer Laura Loomer on X, referring to Comey's firing.

Comey’s removal also lands in the middle of a heated political battle over the handling of documents tied to Epstein. Bondi, who had previously hinted at releasing a so-called "client list," recently reversed course, saying no such incriminating files exist. Trump has tried to distance himself from conspiracy claims, calling it an “Epstein hoax” and lashing out at both Democrats and Republicans fueling the narrative.
