Esports tournament organiser ESL FACEIT Group has announced a partnership with Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya City, a megaproject in the entertainment and tourism sector. The five-year collaboration aims to shape the city's gaming and esports district, with the help of the ESL FACEIT Group's extensive network and expertise.

Qiddiya City, designed as a global hub for gaming and esports, will benefit from ESL FACEIT Group's experience in organising events and engaging communities worldwide. This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to shaping the future of esports on a global scale.

 

Partnership Marks New Milestone in National Gaming and Esports Strategy

Qiddiya City, backed by the Saudi government's Vision 2030 initiative, aims to diversify the country's economy by investing in sectors like entertainment and tourism. With an area spanning 500,000 square meters, the gaming infrastructure within Qiddiya City is set to become a beacon for the esports industry's development. The partnership between ESL FACEIT Group and Qiddiya City marks a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia's National Gaming and Esports Strategy, positioning the country as a key player in the global esports landscape.

 

The partnership is set to officially begin during the IEM Chengdu Counter-Strike 2 tournament on April 12th, where 16 teams will compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
