Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA to Headline Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2024

Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA are set to headline this year’s Glastonbury Festival according to a recent announcement from the organisers, with country star Shania Twain taking the highly coveted “legend slot” on the Sunday afternoon. This will be the first time in the history of the event that two of the three headline slots are filled by women and is a vast change from last year's all-rock, all-male headliners.

SZA to headline Pyramid Stage in Glastonbury debut

2024 marks SZA’s debut at Glastonbury, with the New Jersey born singer winning the Brit Award for best international artist and three Grammys earlier this year. SZA has had an incredible year, with her single Kill Bill spending almost six months in the UK top 40 and her second album SOS spending 10 weeks at the top of the US charts explaining exactly why she has earned a headline spot.

Dua Lipa returns to Glastonbury after 7 years

This year's festival will also see the return of Dua Lipa at Glastonbury after last playing at the festival seven years ago on the John Peel stage. At the time she was a smaller artist, but since her last appearance at the event she has exploded onto the scene with her breakout hit New Rules. It is expected that her set will focus on her new album “Radical Optimism”.

Coldplay to break Glastonbury records

Alongside this year's female headliners will be Glastonbury veterans, Coldplay. Having headlined the Pyramid Stage four times since 2002, this summer will see them become the only act to headline the festival five times, breaking the record they previously held with The Cure. This will be their first performance at Glastonbury since 2016.

Star studded lineup takes on Glastonbury

The lineup for this year's event will also feature a wide variety of talent from multiple genres including Afrobeats stars Burna Boy and boy band Seventeen, who will be the first K-pop group to perform on the Glastonbury stage. Other notable acts include Idles, Disclosure, and The National, who will be headlining on the Other Stage, and the Sugababes, who are returning to perform on the West Holts stage. Pop stars Avril Lavigne, Camila Cabello and Cyndi Lauper are also set to make their Glastonbury debuts.

Although there are many incredible acts that have already been announced, organisers have said that there are still more act announcements to come. The festival is known for pulling off surprises, so fans can expect a few surprise acts to be revealed when the festival begins. With tickets selling out within an hour of their release in November, fans are eager to return to the festival when its gates open on 26th June. A resale of cancelled and refunded tickets is set to take place in April.
