Coldplay Announces UK Tour for 2025
Coldplay has unveiled plans for a UK tour in August 2025, marking the band’s first ever performances in Hull and their return to London’s Wembley Stadium. The tour will consist of eight shows across two cities, with Coldplay set to perform at Craven Park in Hull on August 18th and 19th, and then at Wembley Stadium from August 22nd to 31st.
This announcement comes as part of Coldplay’s ongoing Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which has already been recognized as the biggest rock tour of all time. The band's upcoming UK dates will be their only European performances for 2025.
How do I get tickets?
Tickets for the tour will go on general sale at 9am BST on September 27th, 2024. However, fans who pre-order Coldplay’s new album, Moon Music, will have access to a pre-sale starting on September 26th. A limited number of affordable £20 tickets will also be available from November 22nd, 2024.
In a bid to support local communities, Coldplay have announced that they will reserve 50% of tickets for the Hull shows for local residents with HU, YO, DN, or LN postcodes. Additionally, the band will donate 10% of the proceeds from these concerts to the Music Venue Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting grassroots music venues across the UK.
Paul Lakin, CEO of Hull KR, expressed excitement over the upcoming concerts, calling them "the biggest ever seen in the city." This sentiment is echoed by the Music Venue Trust, whose CEO Mark Davyd praised Coldplay for "giving back to the grassroots music venues that supported them."
Wembley concerts to be powered by solar, wind and kinetic energy
The Wembley concerts will feature a world-first energy initiative, powered entirely by solar, wind, and kinetic energy. The innovative setup includes a satellite stage at each show that will be powered by energy generated through audience participation, such as kinetic flooring and power bikes.
Coldplay’s new album, Moon Music, is set for release on October 4th, 2024. The band has already shared two singles from the album, “feelslikemfallinginlove” and “We Pray,” featuring collaborations with Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini.
With their commitment to sustainability and support for local music communities, Coldplay is set to make their 2025 UK tour a landmark event in the music calendar.
