BAFTA Reveals 2025 Memorable TV Moment Nominees

The BAFTA Television Awards have announced the nominees for the 2025 P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award, celebrating six of the most talked-about TV moments of 2024. This is the only BAFTA category decided by the public, with voting open until April 25th. The shortlist includes standout scenes from Gavin & Stacey: The Finale, The Traitors, Bridgerton, Strictly Come Dancing, Mr Bates vs The Post Office, and Rivals.
Among the nominees is Gavin & Stacey: The Finale, where Smithy, standing at the altar, turns to Mick Shipman for advice before making a life-changing decision. The Traitors delivered its own jaw-dropping moment when Diane Carson revealed that Ross was actually her son. Meanwhile, Bridgerton fans were treated to a steamy confession as Colin finally admitted his love for Penelope in a carriage scene that left viewers swooning.
Other moments in the running include Chris McCausland’s emotional dance to You’ll Never Walk Alone on Strictly Come Dancing, a shocking revelation in Mr Bates vs The Post Office where Jo Hamilton discovers her debt has doubled, and Rivals featuring a scandalous game of naked tennis. BAFTA’s TV committee chair, Hilary Rosen, highlighted the shortlist’s mix of "heart-warming and heart-stopping surprises," showcasing TV’s power to create lasting impact.
Carnival UK & P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow also praised the nominees, stating that 2024 was "an outstanding year for television," with unforgettable moments that sparked conversations. Fans can cast their votes online, with the winner set to be revealed at the BAFTA TV Awards on May 11th, airing on BBC One and iPlayer.
