‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ Trailer - Michael B. Jordan Pulls Off the Ultimate Heist

Slick, Sensual, and Reimagined: Michael B. Jordan Pulls Off the Ultimate Heist in First ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ Trailer

LONDON — Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair, offering filmgoers a stylish first look at Academy Award winner Michael B. Jordan pulling double duty as both lead star and director in the iconic heist thriller (trailer).

The teaser which released globally on Wednesday signals a darker, revenge-infused spin on the classic story, marking Jordan’s second directorial effort following his acclaimed work on 2023's Creed III.

Slated for an exclusive worldwide theatrical release on 5th March 2027, the production represents the third screen incarnation of the story, following Norman Jewison’s seminal 1968 original starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, and John McTiernan’s hit 1999 remake with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.

A Modern Spin on a High-Stakes Game of Cat and Mouse

The atmospheric 90-second teaser establishes Jordan as a suave, ultra-wealthy mastermind who orchestrates daring art heists purely for the visceral thrill of the gamble.

Over slick footage of high-society galas, high-tech security breaches, and sun-soaked European getaways, Jordan’s Crown delivers a haunting opening narration:

"I’ve been taking risks my entire life, but last night it was different," he reflects. "I felt alive. My heart was racing. Every step was part of a plan. Things slowed down. It was silent, and I was surprised how easy it was. But I’m not finished yet."

Whereas earlier cinematic takes framed Thomas Crown as a boredom-struck billionaire thief, Jordan's iteration, co-written by Drew Pearce (The Fall Guy) and Jason Hall (American Sniper)—introduces a distinctly anti-colonial, revenge-driven motive behind the high-profile art thefts.

Opposite Jordan, Adria Arjona (Hit Man, Andor) co-stars as the tenacious insurance investigator dispatched to track Crown down. The trailer heavily teases the sizzling, cat-and-mouse chemistry between the pair as their professional pursuit inevitably turns deeply personal.

A Powerhouse Ensemble and A-List Creative Team

Amazon MGM Studios has backed Jordan’s vision with an enviable international ensemble cast:

  • Michael B. Jordan as Thomas Crown.

  • Adria Arjona as the lead insurance investigator.

  • Kenneth Branagh (Belfast, Tenet).

  • Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon).

  • Danai Gurira (Black Panther, The Walking Dead).

  • Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones).

The feature also boasts an original score composed by multi-Grammy and Academy Award-winning musician Jon Batiste, promising an eclectic audio backdrop to match the film’s glamorous visual aesthetic.
