Resist, Rebel, Rebuild: ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Trailer Unleashes Jessica Jones and a "Missing" Murdock
HELL’S KITCHEN, NY — The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is back, and he isn’t alone. Marvel Television officially set the internet ablaze yesterday with the release of the first teaser trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, confirming a high-stakes return to Disney+ on 24th March 2026.
The eight-episode season appears to be diving headfirst into the "Devil’s Reign" era of Marvel lore, with the city of New York crumbling under the authoritarian rule of Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio).
The Return of Jessica Jones
The trailer’s undisputed "mic drop" moment came in its final seconds, featuring the long-awaited MCU debut of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. Clad in her trademark leather jacket, the super-powered P.I. is seen helping a battered Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) to his feet.
“I hope you can walk,” Jones quips with her signature dry wit, “because I’m not carrying you.”
Her arrival marks the first time Ritter has portrayed the character since 2019, further solidifying the "Defenders-verse" as a core pillar of the current street-level MCU.
A City in Shadow
Set to the thumping, melancholic beat of Childish Gambino’s "Lithonia," the trailer paints a grim picture of New York. A prominent "Missing Person" poster featuring Matt Murdock suggests the lawyer has been forced into hiding following the events of Season 1, where Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) declared open season on costumed heroes.
Despite his absence from the courtroom, the "Devil" remains active. The footage showcases a sleek new "Back in Black" suit, a direct homage to Charles Soule’s celebrated comic run as Murdock wages a guerrilla war against Fisk's corrupt empire.
Familiar Foes and New Faces
The trailer also confirmed several major cast returns and shocking status quo shifts:
-
The Bullseye Returns: Wilson Bethel’s Dex Poindexter is seen smiling chillingly in a diner, apparently free from prison and sporting a more comic-accurate look.
-
The Foggy Mystery: Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson, who was seemingly assassinated in the Season 1 premiere, appears in several warm, sun-drenched shots. While many fans suspect these are flashbacks, rumors of a "Witness Protection" twist continue to swirl.
-
Enter Mr. Charles: The trailer provided the first footage of Matthew Lillard in his mysterious new role as "Mr. Charles," a character described as being as influential in the shadows as Fisk is in the light.
March Madness
The 24th March premiere date positions Born Again as the centerpiece of Marvel’s spring slate, following the January launch of Wonder Man. With the series already renewed for a third season, the battle for the soul of New York is only just beginning.
As the trailer (below) concludes with a shot of someone in a Kingpin mask being apprehended by police, the message is clear: Hell’s Kitchen may have gone to the dogs, but the Devil is finally back to take it back.
